Litigation Bill C-78 Update January 2003

Government lawyers, whose stalling tactics included making a submission to a court that the unions had NO authority to undertake litigation to recover the stolen surpluses from the superannuations has been struck down upon our Appeal and we were awarded costs and damages. This frivolous attempt by the government may not be the last bit of chicanery, bearing mind that there are over $50 billions involved in the theft. The accumulated total of all three accounts (CFSA, RCMPSA and PSSA) now stands at over $150 billions!

Yes, $150 billions.

That is the amount which is part of the National Debt and is our money (retirement savings) which various governments over the years have used for many purposes, including buying elections. At NO time were any of us asked if the government could borrow or use our retirement savings. If any financial institution tried that scheme to finance corporate agendas, individuals would be serving holiday time in one of our prisons for fraud and or theft.

Our issue makes ENRON and the other recent corporate scandals very small potatoes.

As an addition, Ontario CF Retirees/voters should be very careful of Ernie Eaves and his Finance Minister's sneaky activity regarding pension surpluses. Janet Ecker, within an omnibus bill, tried to sneak in a provision that corporations could use their employees pension surpluses, AND that item was to be retroactive to 1988!!!

Many complaints, including ours, managed to have that item removed from the omnibus bill. But, if re-elected, the Eaves government will reintroduce that item to satisfy Bay Street friends.

Voter Beware.

The reason this little gem is thrown in is that should the Ontario government pass such a thieving bill it could and probably would jeopardize our litigation to recover our stolen funds. A precedent having been set.

Have a nice day
